After 58 hours since leaving Austin, Texas I have finally made it to Kyoto, Japan. This is my peaceful little place for the next year, if all goes well. Simply getting here was an epic adventure of it's own, first by way of LA and Hong Kong, then re-routed by way of Hawaii.

That suitcase you see there weighed in at 97lbs in Austin. She will henceforth and forever more be known as "The Beast". I picked her up at each and every stop, hauled her from one end of LAX to the other, dragged her through the streets of Honolulu, from the Osaka Airport to the Japan Rail Station, from Kyoto Station to the subway, down flights of stairs, up flights of stairs.....from the subway through the maze of streets of Kyoto, in the rain no less, to finally reach my doorstep. She made it....like one of those little dogs with three legs, she now has 3 wheels, but she made it. I did triathlons for years and don't remember feeling the level of exhaustion I have now reached.

But IT ALL WAS WORTH IT.....I woke up to this view from my bed in my tiny house in Kyoto, the Heart of Japan.
