"Traveling — it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller."

-- Ibn Battuta

Japanese Word or Phrase

I have renewed my enthusiasm to at least master some basic conversational Japanese as it is a very perplexing world to live in when I am always in a setting not understanding what is being said.  I will begin posting my new efforts and progress here.

yūgen (幽玄)

a term that Japanese artists and poets have used to signify

a deep appreciation and feeling of relatedness with the Universe.

HIRAGANA

Hiragana is a Japanese syllabary, one component of the Japanese writing system, along with katakana, kanji, and in some cases rōmaji. It is a phonetic lettering system. The word hiragana literally means "ordinary" or "simple" kana. Hiragana and katakana are both kana systems.
