This is how good friends take care of you in S.Korea on your birthday. I was simply overwhelmed by the kindness and hospitality shown by my new good friends in Seoul. They insisted on taking me to a traditional Korean dinner and before the night was over I was given my Korean name. “Gyeong gu Lee.”

My friend says... I think it's a perfect name for you. I didn't know that this name Gyeong gu was meant to be so nice because it sounds similar to ‘Kirk'. There are many Korean surnames, Kim, Lee, Park, and Choi, but since you happen to have ‘Lee' in your name, I think 'Gyeong gu Lee' would be good for your full name.
‘Gyeong gu’ means "A concise and sharp expression of truth or feelings or thoughts about life.”
They explained that hugging was not w part of their culture but at the end of the night they both broke with tradition, initiated hugs and sent me on my way.
